"Calling all gamers!" a deep-voiced man spoke through the speakers of Chris's computer. He was zoning out, waiting for the ad to finish so he could return to the video. "We need beta tester for a new, immersive MMO by Virtual World Tech!"
"Virtual World Teck?" Chris asked aloud, not one in particular. He was alone in his room. "Never heard of them..." Truthfully, Chris never had heard of the company, which was telling. He knew all of the major gaming companies, and it was especially unusual in today's age for a new gaming company to form. He decided against hitting the 'Skip Ad' button.
His screen was then filled with the a wondrous view of a small mountain village by a river. A few kids ran around the edge, some of the adults were tending to a large garden, and then the screen focused on a young lady, seemingly praying. Chris noted immediately that the people seemed... real. The wilderness, the town... it all seemed real, as if filmed in actual life. The girl then began to whisper some word that he could not understand, and her outstretched fingers danced. Her hands glowed faintly. With a sudden flick upward with her writs, a tree sprout grew into a mighty oak. The girl turned to the camera and smiled brightly. It then faded to some woman lying in an unusual encased pod with gear over her head and face. "Now way... They couldn't have..."
"Yes! VWT has cracked the code for completely immersive virtual reality!" The ad continued to show other parts of the virtual world, and Chris stared intently at the screen and and gripped his phone. "Please complete the online form if you want to be a beta test for the state-of-the-art virtual game! Only the first first 500 will be accepted."
Even before the ad had finished, Chris opened a page on his phone and opened another tab on his computer. He followed the displayed link, and completed the form for both himself and his older brother. Within less than a minute afterwards, he received two notifications saying that they were accepted to participate as beta testers for MYSTICA.
