Drif wasn't used to people relying on her. Asking for help, sure, people asked her all the time when it came to potions class. She was the best student in the entire school, specifically when it came to potions. Everything else, not so much. She'd ended up befriending Melona over mutual bad grades, although Melona was at least trying to be better, and the two had become close. Still, Drif could have never expected her once flat-chested friend to arrive at her dorm room, now stacked to hell and back, asking her help.
What else could she do but say yes?
"...And then I ran here..." Melona gasped, still out of breath from her run, her ample bosom heaving with every inhale.
"I'm not much of a curses person," Drif started, "But there's nothing a good potion can't solve!"
As Drif started jotting down potential recipes, she almost missed how Melona started to shake.
"Mel...?"
"Drif... I'm..." Melona started, eyes watering, "I'm scared... I don't want to be like mom... But that means I have to give up on magic forever..."
Drif put down her notebook, stepping closer. She had no idea what she was doing, but she couldn't just leave her friend like this.
"Um... Th-there there..." Drif said, giving Melona a slight pat on the back, only to be pulled into an extra-soft hug, Melona clinging to her like a stuffed bear as she began to sob. Drif let it happen, feeling a burning rage. No one makes her friend feel like this and gets away with it. No one.
"Mel, I promise ya, we'll break this curse!" Drif announced, "No matter what it takes!"
Melona hugged her tighter, blubbering out something that vaguely sounded like a "thank you." After the two had their cry, they decided to get to work by...
