As you read the case files, your eyes widened in surprise, then disbelief. A boy who looks no older than thirteen is actually over five hundred years old.
Seeing your reaction, Finola nodded. "One of my associates will be arriving with him shortly."
You gave the file back to Finola. "Is this kid really immortal?"
Finola sighed. "It will be our job to determine what type of immortality he has, then help him."
I winced. "You mean he may be a vampire..."
"He may be one of several things, but our job is not to speculate; we need to find the facts, and act upon them."
You nodded, then turned as a towering man with a grim look entered, with a trembling small boy in tow. The boy seemed average in all respects, and remained still as the man released him.
Finola gave the boy a small grin, then turned to the man. "Any issues?"
The man shook his head. "No issues, mistress; Mr. Jon Doe was actually tolerable to talk to."
Finola smiled then turned to me. "This is Llewellyn, the associate I mentioned. Do not approach him unless I order you to do so; he has little patience for interruptions of his work."
You nodded. "Where do we start?"
Finola motioned to Jon. "I suggest we start with..."
