“Alex, breakfast, come and have some breakfast,” called his mother from the kitchen.
Alex, who still had his foot in front of his face, was kicked out of his trance. Still groggy, he managed to got up and went in the kitchen to the breakfast table while his mother cooked scrambled eggs for her family. His father and siblings were already sitting at the dining table while his sister Sam had her foot on the table and was painting her toenails.
Alex couldn't help but stare at his sister's feet and thought to himself "feet, why do there have to be feet again?"
Alex sat down and almost fell into his chair and said tiredly to his mother, "Morning mom." She replied, “Morning honey, you look like you could use some more sleep." Alex replied, "Yes, some sleep wouldn't be bad."
His father asked him, "Have you turned the night into day again, Alex?" He replied, "No, I just couldn't sleep." Sam then asked him, "Is there a reason why you couldn't sleep?" Alex shrugged and said, "Sam, I don't want to talk about this right now," still staring at his sister's feet.
Sam gave Alex a concerned look until her mother said to her "Sam take your feet off the table, we want to eat," and brought the food to the table. During breakfast, Alex couldn't help but occasionally stare at his sister's feet under the table, while she pointed her toes up since the paint was still fresh.
