Jenna glanced down at her living but immobile Ruby doll brother. You of course were unable to see her staring down at you, as your field of vision was stuck forwards towards your mother and her diorama. If you could have seen the slow smile emerging on your sister's face, you would have been very nervous. Jenna reached down and plucked you from her cleavage, before holding you out to Lauren.
"Here Mom, another cute doll for your diorama. Ruby would look perfect on display for all to admire her. Right where she belongs." She exclaimed to her mother, saying the last statement with far too much glee in her tone. Your mother simply blinked, glancing right at you before smiling and accepting your immobile form from your sister.
"Thank you sweetie, oh this is a cute doll. She will be perfect." Your mother stated, staring right at you as she turned you over in her hands, admiring the detail of what she thought was a toy. She stared right at your pretty little face and did not recognise her own son with the wig, make up and outfit. You wanted to cry out but the full length kept you just smiling with kissy lips as you were placed down, your plastic heels clicking on the tabletop.
As you stood there, shocked and immobile, you watched Jenna flash you a grin, waving to you behind your mothers back before saying her goodbyes and leaving you with your oblivious mother, waiting to be glued into place on her diorama. You watched your mother walk past, heading out of the room to go look for some more dolls as you stared ahead, your smiling face hiding your terror and anger over the situation. While you certainly didn't want to be your sisters prop all day, at least you would have seen the convention. Now it seemed all you would see is the rest of the diorama when you were given a place on it.
Over the next few hours you watched from your limited field of vision as your mother found more dolls, setting them up in outfits and posing them as she hummed happily. You couldn't see where she was placing them but soon she turned her attention to you with an eager smile. Gently she picked you up and looked you over once again.
"hmm, very pretty indeed. But I don't want to risk damaging her." She muttered to herself before picking up a bottle of gloss varnish and a small brush. You whimpered as you knew what was coming next. Sure enough, your mother began to brush the varnish over every exposed bit of skin you had, including your eyes, making them sting. It it wasn't for the full length, you're eyes would be watering from the pain right now. As your vision refocused, you saw your vision now had a glossy sheen to it, a layer of varnish making you look even more artificial as she placed you amongst the dolls, central on the diorama.
The larger dolls towered around you, now you had been moved you could see your faint reflection in the window. Your mother had made your tiny body the central display of the diorama, with all the other dolls in a semi-circle around you in their pretty outfits. With your pose and smiling face, it looked like you were happily showing off as they all admired you, it was so embarrising. You heard a click as your mother took a picture on her phone and gave her diorama one last glance, nodding and smiling with contentment before she walked away, likely to make some food or do some other activity your immobility denied you.
For the rest of the day you simply stood there on display, listening to the occasional sounds of your mother moving about the house, or talking on the phone. You wanted to curse Jenna for leaving you to this horrible boredom. After many, many mundane hours, you heard the door open and your sister called out.
"Hey Mom, we're back!" She cried out, as herself, Ashley and even your girlfriend Mari all entered your field of vision, dressed as members of the SSSS. Despite it all, you had to admit that Mari looked amazing in her cosplay. Lauren walked over, gushing about their amazing outfits and listening to the girls telling her about their fun time at the convention. As you listened to them talk, you saw Jenna catch sight of you on the table and grinned, walking over to you.
"Oh wow, you completed your diorama, it looks perfect. Doesn't Ruby make the perfect centrepiece?" She asked, gesturing for the girls to come over and look. She locked eyes with you as she grinned, while Mari and Ashley walked over and admired the art piece. Mari gasped and then giggled, blushing slightly as the other two glanced at her.
"Sorry, for a moment I thought that was Matt standing there. But its clearly very much a girl," She said tapping at the outfit giving you a very feminine figure. "And very clearly fake!" She finished, tapping your varnished cheek, which Jenna hadn't noticed until that moment. Her grin grew wider and she laughed.
"Oh my god, could you imagine Matt ever wearing such a pretty outfit? I think he would rather die! He certainly wouldn't stand there smiling." Jenna joked, teasing you as the others laughed at the thought, unaware of the reality of the situation. After a few more minutes of admiring your mothers diorama and chatting, they all headed off out of your line of sight to go get some food. You stood there silently, feeling humiliated and hopeless, even Mari hadn't recognised you like this, you were going to be stuck until Jenna stopped finding this funny, which could take a long time.
After the girls went home and Lauren had gone to bed, Jenna, now dressed in her pyjama bottoms and a loose top stood in front of you, smirking as she drank a glass of milk. She licked her lips and bent over to stare at you closely, a smirk fixed on her face.
"So lifelike, you could almost believe she was alive." She teased as she stood back up, yawning and heading off to bed. As she switched off the light, you were plunged into darkness and could only listen to the sound of her walking up the stairs to her room as she left you here with the other diorama dolls.
Days passed slowly, watching your mother and sister pass by your display as they went about their lives, Jenna seeming content to leave you as you were until after your mother entered you in the contest it seemed. Lauren of course unaware that her missing son was displayed so prominantly in front of her. Finally the day of the contest arrived and Lauren slid your display into a cardboard box, sealing you away as she carried you carefully to the car.
When you arrived, Lauren took you out of the box and placed you onto one of the display tables with her name on a little label so they knew who made this diorama. You saw Jenna and Ashley nearby looking at some of the other displays, no doubt here so Jenna could enjoy your public humiliation. You stood there as you had for the past month, posed amongst the larger dolls, as judges walked around, scoring each art project in turn. Finally, they began to call out the winners as the crowd all stopped milling about to listen...
