"For now, but let's fix that Zoe. Swap hair back with me." Josh stated.
"See... I kinda... don't want to." She responded as she slowly placed their drinks on the table.
"What do you mean!" Josh exclaimed with a bit of panic in his voice.
"Not forever. Just a little while. I've always wanted to try out the short hair'd punk look but never had the guts to actually go through with it. You know how long it takes to actually grow that out? Can you please just hold on to it for a bit, and let me mess with your hair a smidge so I can see if I like the look?" She asked.
"Wait so not only do you want me to keep your hair... you're gonna mess with mine?! No absolutely not Zoe!" Josh firmly stated.
"Oh come on please!" She begged. "I'll give you discounts on the drinks! Extra hole punches in the loyalty cards?!"
"ZOE! Order up!" Tim Yelled from the kitchen.
"A trade! I'll trade something with you!" Zoe tried as she started back towards the front. "Think about it."
"Argghhh!" Josh groaned as he sipped his latte. "I just want my hair back...."
"Babe what are you complaining about?! This is perfect!" Jenn said grinning from ear to ear. Josh knew from experience he was about to get talked into something. "Think about it. She's willing to trade something with us and all it's gonna take is you dealing with long hair for a week."
"And whatever haircut she got me for weeks after."
"What's the worst she can do that you can't just grow out in a month?"
"Babe I don't wanna have a goth/punk/alt look for a week much less a month. I look stupid like this." He said motioning to his hair.
"I think it looks kinda cute on you." Jenn smiled. "I promise I'm not gonna break up with you cause of whatever haircut you're gonna have when you get your hair back."
"Fine fine..." Josh relented starting to melt under that damn smile. "But what do I even trade with her? She's a nice girl but I don't exactly have a long list of thing I want to swap with her."
"Somewhat true, but what about with me?"
"What... No there's nothi-"
"Babe I know you love me for me, yada yada, it's very sweet but, I know there are two things. Large things. That I'd like to try out."
"You mean her..."
"I'm not saying she'll go for it, but who knows. If you let me negotiate with her a bit I might be able to get an upgrade for the girls." Jenn whispered "But you're gonna need to buy me time to talk with her one on one. Girl to girl. Without you here."
"So what you want me to just wait in the car for you?"
"No silly. I need you to swap places with her." Jenn proposed. "Just wait on tables for bit while we talk."
"You want me to swap lives with her?! What if she just never swaps back like with my hair?"
"No not lives. Just jobs for a little while." Jenn assured as she rubbed his hand. "Come on babe. I promise it'll be worth it."
