Two tell or not two tell

"Where did it go?" Josh heard again. Looking around he could see both Emily and Jenn looking down at the table where the empty box now sit. Thinking about if he should tell them or not since they both saw the book in the box.

Taking in a deep breath, he looked over at his girlfriend. "Well, I opened up the the book and this little clown looking guy came out and gave me a gift." The look that Jenn was giving him was one that he told her that he studied for an exam, but in all actuality he stayed up late playing a video game.

"What are you talking about?" Jenn sighed looking under the table to see if he put it down there out of the way, but didn't see anything. "Okay, where is it at? I wanted to look inside and see what's written." Still not finding the book, she sat down a little dejected.

On the other hand, Emily looked pretty happy about what she just heard. "So when you opened the book, what was the guy dressed as again?"

Thinking that somebody was going to believe, Josh told them both the story of how when the opened the book and the little man materialized dressed as a mime. "But when I looked back over to him, he was dressed as a hipster. Almost like that Leon guy that works here. Tight pants, button down shirt, and suspenders" He really despised that guy for when he tried to hit on Jenn when she was waiting for him to get out of class several months earlier.

With an incredulous look on her face, Jenn looked like she was about to leave and not talk to Josh until school starts back up after Thanksgiving break. "He's telling the truth, Jenn." Emily said trying to calm her friend down. "So Josh." She continued turning to face him. "What did the book decided to gift you?"

Unable to believe what she was saying, Josh quickly answered. "Umm... It said that I can change parts of my body by putting on a piece of clothing." The looks on the two girl's faces couldn't have been more opposite of each other. "I'm telling you the truth." He pleaded his girlfriend who seemed done with the whole situation.

Quickly grabbing her bag and her drink, she looked back over to Josh. "If you want to live in this delusion, fine. But I'm not going to have you suck me into it..."

"I believe you?" Emily quickly added looking over at her friend. "You see, my grandfather once told me a story of how he found a book when he was a kid. He was a young man in Bavaria working the fields with his family when he found the book with a golden latch on the side just sitting under a tree. There wasn't anyone around that would have left it there, but when he opened it up, time stopped around him and a small man dressed as a 1700s looking commoner appeared. Jenn hold on a minute." She held out her hand to hold her friend. "Let me finish my story and lets see if what Josh says is true."

Jenn seemed to be done with everything, but nodded her head and put her stuff down. "Fine, but if either of you are lying to me, I'm leaving." Sitting back down in the chair that she had just vacated not too long before, Jenn looked over at Emily. "Finish your story."

Ignoring her friend, Emily continued her story. "The small man was dressed as a commoner from the 1700s, woolen trousers and loose shirt. But when he looked again, he was dressed as a mime. You see, my grandfather hated mimes ever since he was young because they would make fun of him." She looked again over to Jenn, who seemed a little more interested in the story, but still a bit distant. "After a little conversation, the little man looked over at the book and held his ear up to it. The two of them seemed to converse, but my grandfather wasn't able to hear anything. After a short while, the little man looked up at my grandfather and told him that the book was going to give him a gift. When that was said, a soft, dull light enveloped him."

Intrigued, Josh leaned in a little closer to hear. "What was the gift that your grandfather got from the book?" He asked wondering if it will be worth it.

"He got the gift to speak any language he ever wanted except for German. But it never allowed him to read it, he had to learn that separately." Emily finished out. "He thought that it was because the book would grant a gift but with a small catch. After opening the book, he was never able to speak German again, but every other language was at his disposal. Just before the outbreak of the 2nd World War, he immigrated to the US and helped with translating Italian and Japanese radio broadcasts." She turned back over to Josh, who seemed to relive the experience from several minutes prior. "What gift did you get?" She asked him.

Thinking about it for a moment and wondering if he should tell them, but took a deep breath in. "I was given the gift to change my body by putting on a piece of clothing."

Thinking about it for a moment, Jenn asked. "Well, what is your catch?" She wondered looking over at her boyfriend.

Smiling and knowing he sounded insane. "Apparently I can only change my body when I wear women's clothing. It will change part of my body to copy theirs. But if I wear 3 or more pieces of the same person, I will become a copy of them. Its stupid I know." He chuckled, but felt an odd clipping sensation in his hair. He brought his hand up to where he self the sensation and found a small butterfly barrette clip. Looking around, he saw Emily and Jenn looking at him with awe. "What?" He asked as he felt something tickling the back of his neck. He brought his hand to brush the back of his neck, but felt hair. Grabbing a portion of it, Josh gave it a small tug, but felt a sharp pain. Bringing it closer to his face, he could see the same color of blonde hair that Emily had. Soon gone was the short brown hair and now his hair was long and as blonde as the sun. "What did you do that for?" He asked Emily who seemed giddy at the whole situation.

"But how is that possible?" Jenn wondered as she grew closer to him and started to feel his hair. "It just started to flow out like a Play-Do from a mold." She gave it a small tug to be sure that it was real which resulted in a small yelp of pain from her boyfriend.

Reeling back in pain, Josh quickly turned to Emily. "I can't change back for 48 hours." He nearly shouted, but gladly found that the area had been emptied from everyone else. "How am I supposed to hide this from my family?" Emily started to apologize, but Josh brushed it off. "Its fine, I just need to have something that I wore before I changed to cover my head. Thank God I have a ball cap at home that I can use."
