Bruce Wayne is sitting on a bench in Gotham Park. He recently got into "conflict" with a reporter from Metropolis and is here to settle it. Soon Clark Kent, the reporter, comes into the park and sits next to Bruce. "You got here fast." Bruce says with a telling look. "Well, when Gotham's golden boy comes to me with his opinion on the Batman, I don't plan on missing it." Clark says with a telling look as well. Bruce smirks. "Then let's get started." Clark nods while pulling out his notepad.
"Bruce Wayne. What do you think about the masked vigilante, Batman?"
Bruce smiles. "Well, I think Batman is the hero Gotham needs to pull itself out of the darkness and into the light."
"Interesting answer. Are you implying that Batman is necessary for Gotham to survive?"
Bruce shakes his head. "I think Batman is a...result of corruption that lays waste to Gotham. Any person can be driven to weed out injustices in their home. Some succeed, some fail, and some become the villain's that soured their home in the first place. Batman is here because Gotham needs someone to save it."
Clark gives a skeptical look. "And you believe Batman's "justice" is what the Gotham needs?"
"No. His methods are brutal, and I don't condone that. Still, he is fighting for justice in a city that unfair and hopeless. Sometimes, a hero has to walk the line to help both sides."
Clark gets serious. "And if you cross that line."
Bruce frowns. "I would never."
The two heroes stare each other down. Their next action determining where their relationship stands. However, their attention is drawn is then drawn to an object falling from space. They look at each other for a second before Clark quickly flies up and grabs the object before it can crash into Gotham. Clark than places it in a secluded part of the park while Bruce goes over to analyze it.
"It's a space pod." They both say at the same time.
As they say that, the pod opens and the alien inside it falls to the ground. Its skin is scaly while being a light teal in color. It's bipedal with a round head, big pitch-black eyes, and a big fin on top of it's head that goes from his forehead to the back. The ulnar side of its forearms also have smaller fins as well as its calves. Its hands and feet have three fingers and are smooth with no detail.
The alien looks up at Clark and Bruce before standing up and holding out its hand. Suddenly, Clark feels his powers draining from his body. He falls to ground feeling the energy inside of him draining away. However, before the alien can fully drain Clark, Bruce slices the alien's hand with the Batsuit's arm blade that he hid in his business suit. The alien screeches in pain before holding his wounded hand. It looks at Bruce angrily before using his other hand to blast Bruce with an energy beam. Bruce flies back but quickly recovers to help Clark who got back up. Both heroes rush to bring down the alien. Fighting on the same side for the first time.
(Present Day)
Batman and Kid-Bat are in the Batwing on their way to Metropolis. Kid-Bat looks out the window seeing Gotham get smaller and smaller. "Um, Batman. You sure Gotham will be fine in our absence?" "Don't worry, I asked Dick and Tim to survey the city while we're out on League business." Batman turns on the after burners so the Batwing can get to Metropolis faster. In Metropolis, the Justice League is fighting the Legion of Doom.
Each leaguer is fighting their nemesis while Batman and Kid-Bat are about to fly overhead. "Ready to eject?" Kid-Bat gets gitty. "Yeah, I'm ready." Batman nods before turning the Batwing upside down. Both Batman and Kid-Bat eject out of the plane and dive into the battlefield. Batman glides down and takes on Black Manta while Kid-Bat fights...
