You couldn't help but take comfort in the sturdy plastic of the the trash bin, there was overhead covering, a great view and... Yes, you were a little too afraid to try climbing off of this monolith. Luckily the hoard of flies were still content with the dog poo sparing you from another battle. You took refuge near a corner of the bin, safe enough away from the chasm at the center and easy enough to jump onto a hand should the time come. Soon enough the bus came and the man on the bench got up and was replaced by a mother and daughter getting off. As they passed by the trash can, the daughter paused, asked for a tissue, and blew a sickening amount of gunk into the paper. You watched in disgust as the crumpled tissue was carelessly tossed into the bin with a squelch, landing just on top of the doggy bag. With any luck it squashed a fly or two under it! Unable to get either of their attention, you waited out the rest of the night hoping someone else would come along but no dice.
It was just before dawn when you awoke to the sound of what you thought was another bus but much to your excitement, it was a garbage truck! You never thought you'd be so happy to see one until now. You crawled towards the very edge of the bin and watched as a truly massive human got off the side and approach the can. His gloved hand pinched the side of the lid and began to lift it up. With all the energy you had left, you bolted off over the edge hoping to find solace atop the man's giant gloved hand. You watch as you got closer and closer until...
