Victor was watching the exhibition match between Leon and Raihan on his Rotom phone. The crowd was getting loud, adding to Victor's excitement.
"Hey Victor." Hop said from the doorway. Victor was so focused on the match, he didn't notice Hop come in.
"You watching Lee's exhibition match on your flash new phone? But you can't cheer him on like that! How are you supposed to do his Charizard pose with your hands full?"
Victor's mother walked in from the kitchen. "I thought that was you. Though I didn't expect to see you today, considering."
Hop just smiled. "Yea, I came over to get Vic. Couldn't exactly choose my starter alone now, could I?"
Victor smiled at his antics. "Alright, let's go then. But you'd better let me watch that recording you have of the match."
Vic grabbed the pokéflute his mum bought him, put it in his bag, and they went off towards Hop's home. Without a word, their walk suddenly became a race. One that Hop won by jumping over the wall.
"Looks like I win again."
"Only because you keep cheating." The two just laughed and entered.
"Mum, is he here yet?"
"Not yet. Seriously, Hop, you need to learn some patience." Hop's mum turned and noticed Victor. Not wanting to be rude, she offered him a Jaffa cake.
Victor loved her Jaffa cakes, they always burst with flavour.
As they waited, Hop paced the room while Victor savoured every last Jaffa cake he could have without looking greedy.
After ten minutes, Leon finally arrived.
Hop said... something too fast to be understood.
Leon seemed to understand just fine. "Alright, let's go outside first, OK?"
As Hop left, Leon took a look at Victor. "Hey mate, you ready?"
Victor nodded and joined Hop. Only to see Gloria outside too.
After a bit of back and fore, Leon announced it was time for them to choose their starters and brought them out.
"So, who will you choose?"
"Go on Vic, you pick first. I already have my Wooloo after all."
Victor turned to Gloria. "You wanna go first?"
"And let you get the best of me? Piss off." She said smiling.
