Off to lunch

"Ack!"

*POUND*

Throughout the first twenty minutes or so of the class, the unaware high school student kept pounding Derek with her foot. She kept shaking her leg as she did her work, as many high school students were known to do. Consequently her foot kept raising off the ground before stepping right back down. Unfortunately, the girl was doing this on the side with Derek strapped to her shoe.

*STOMP*
*SQUELCH*

"Help... me..." Derek moaned between stomps. At the conclusion of this twenty minute period, Derek was able to help himself. When the girl's shaking finally wore off, Derek took a moment to regain his composure as his body throbbed with pain. "Thank goodness I'm so durable," he thought. After a couple minutes of relaxing and regaining composure, the little guy made a move. Twisting and contorting his body, Derek struggled with all his might to get off this student's shoe. With little progress coming within the first minute, Derek was thinking about giving up and letting the girl find him instead. However, with him being underneath the outer sole of the shoe, the little assistant realized that being discovered was rather optimistic. Therefore, he resumed his attempts at freeing himself. The second time around of squirming and writhing worked, as within the first few seconds of this trial, Derek loosened himself off of the girl's shoe and fell to the ground with a thud.

"Oof!" the little guy grunted. He slowly lifted himself off the ground, the soreness very noticeable. Groaning in pain, Derek slowly pushed himself elsewhere to avoid being flattened again. He fell to the ground and laid on his back beneath the teacher's desk, in an area unreachable to the average person. Heaving and sighing, Derek smiled in relief as he found himself free again. "I don't understand, I get that I would get into some sticky situations, but this early in the year? You've gotta be kidding me," he said aloud. The little guy laid there for quite some time, nearly falling asleep, before the bell dismissing the class snapped him out of his daze. Looking at his phone, Derek realized that it was time for lunch. As he got up to head to the staff room for his meal, an announcement came over the intercom from the principal.

"Good afternoon, students and staff. Today, the staff members shall eat alongside students in the commons as the staff room undergoes improvements on the refrigerator and other accessories. Thank you for your understanding and enjoy the rest of your day." Derek grumbled to himself as this announcement was made. "You've got to be joking. I just got away from these students and now they're making me eat with them? Great, I'll have to be especially vigilant for myself." With that last thought, Derek made his way to the commons for lunch.

Does anything significant happen during lunch or does Derek get through it fine?

You have the following choices:

1. Something happens at lunch

2. Nothing happens, heading to next period
