Jack narrowly got around the rambunctious kids and gave an awkward wave to the mother, who returned the gesture. "Man, I feel bad for her," Jack thought as he cleared the chaotic zone. "The poor woman has so much on her plate at once." That being said, the real estate agent thought it was better her than him to have to deal with something like that. He soon approached one of the checkout counters and started unloading his items onto the conveyor belt. One after another, the items were scanned and placed into conveninent bags. Jack quietly helped the clerk, hoping to avoid any more awkward interactions, before receiving his statement for his groceries. He then paid in full with his credit card and took his groceries out to the car, quickly unpacking them into the trunk and driving off for home. In the car ride, Jack relaxed and put on some music. "God, I hate going shopping," he muttered to himself. "At least there weren't that many people there. Otherwise I'd probably would have run into twenty families like that. I wouldn't have made it out alive."
The drive home was super smooth. Hardly any other cars were out on the part of the road that Jack was driving on, so he was able to make the typical fifteen to twenty minute drive in the ten. Back at his apartment, the real estate agent started to unload his groceries one at a time into the building. As he entered his apartment, he found his girlfriend up and running for the day. "Welcome back," the short brunette warmly called out. Jack smiled, relieved to see her awake so he could make noise. "Thanks. Would you mind unpacking these while I get the rest out of the car?" Jess nodded her head and did as Jack asked while he thanked her then returned for the rest of his load. After a little while, the two finished off the grocery run and were fully stocked in the apartment. "Great, thank you," Jack smiled as he kissed his girlfriend on the forehead. Jess laughed and returned the favor, pulling him in for a full kiss this time.
"Any plans for the day, sugar lips?" Jess asked. Jack shrugged. "Hadn't thought that far ahead. All I knew was I needed to get the shopping done. Do you have anything going on?" Jess tossed her head to the side. "Well, just going to the gym. I'll probably get going here in an hour or so. I thought of going out in the evening with Rachel and Lynn, but I haven't gotten confirmation on whether that's a go or not. If I hear back, would you want to tag along?" the brunette offered. Jack shrugged again. "Sure, what the hell. They're cool." His girlfriend laughed and gave him another kiss, this time on the cheek. "Sounds like a plan then. You just relax for now, I know that shopping trip took it out of you." Jack chuckled and took her up on the offer, heading over to the living room and plopping down on the couch. Jess went off to their bedroom to start getting changed and preparing to head for the gym.
Does anything happen between now and the possible plans in the evening?
