Jack's morning seemed to drag on forever. An endless pile of paperwork from his recent sales kept coming from Brenna and he thought he wouldn't get through the day alive. As he was filing one of his more successful sells, someone approached the desk. With his head down, Jack failed to notice and kept working. When the pile of papers was smacked off his desk, the agitated real estate agent looked up and rolled his eyes when he found Vanessa standing there. "What do you need?" Jack impatiently asked. "Whoa, what's with the hostility?" the blonde woman snorted. "I just came around to say hi. Haven't spoken to you in a little while, it looks like you've been making some headway here. Mind if I take a look?"
"As a matter of fact, I do mind," Jack replied. "I need to finish filing these. And your little disturbance slowed me down. Come back and talk to me later when I'm not so busy." Vanessa smirked and rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say, boss." She was about to walk away when something caught her eye. Barely visible beneath a few stray papers was a phone-like device. The senior real estate agent thought it could have been Jack's phone, but there was something distinct about it that she just couldn't put her finger on. She looked back at Jack and saw he was hard at work, resuming his responsibilities. Another mischievous thought popped into Vanessa's head. With a quick lurch, the blonde woman blew through the pile of papers covering the device and picked it up. Jack immediately raised his head and nearly shouted at Vanessa, but caught himself as to not alert the rest of the office. He stood up, prepared to take it away, but the blonde woman hid it in her coat and grinned as she walked back towards her own desk. "Give me a break," Jack mumbled under his breath as he followed his annoying coworker.
A moment later, the two were confronting one another at Vanessa's desk, in the back of the front office. "Vanessa, please give it back," Jack sighed. "I don't know why you're stealing things from my desk, but I'd rather not have another meeting with HR. Just give it back and let's go back to work." Vanessa giggled as she pulled out the shrink ray. "Well, what is this thing? It's not your phone, or at least not your personal phone. Where'd you get it? What does it do?" she asked. "I'm not really in the mood for answering questions," Jack continued. "Now just hand it over." Vanessa's grin remained on her face as she slowly handed the device over to Jack. Just as it touched his hand, Vanessa quickly pressed one of the buttons and there was a brief flash. Then, a moment later, Vanessa looked on in awe as Jack was no longer standing in front of her. Or so she thought. Astonished, the blonde woman looked around before looking to the ground. When she spotted a tiny figure standing in front of her, Vanessa laughed. "No way! Jack, is that you? This is too good!" She kissed the shrink ray then set it in her purse before bending over and snatching up her now tiny coworker.
"Vanessa, dammit, why would you do that?!" Jack screamed. The blonde woman couldn't stop laughing. "This is hiliarious! You're tiny! Oh my God, this is too good. All the humor aside, though, this is perfect timing," Vanessa spoke ecstatically. Jack looked at her confused. "Since you're in my possession now, you're coming with me. You and I have a sale that we're going to land jointly." Jack suddenly felt a hole in the pit of his stomach. This didn't sound good. Before he could protest, his obnoxious coworker slid him into her coat pocket and picked up her purse. His world slightly shook in the musty prison of Vanessa's pocket as she walked away and out of the office, to her car. A few minutes later and the blonde woman was driving off to her sale, bringing the tiny Jack with her.
What was Vanessa's plan for Jack?
