Chapter #2

A good start

"Let's see, I forget who the potential buyer is..." Jack muttered to himself. As he pulled into the destination he pulled out his list of clientele for the near future. Scrolling through the pages of listed properties he was responsible for, he soon found what he was looking for. "Amy Crane," he read aloud. "32-years-old, prominent inner city business woman, already prepared to make a worthwhile investment on the house. Sounds like this shouldn't be to hard of a sell." Jack got out of his car then approached the front door of the house. He reached into his pocket and grabbed the spare key he was provided to give a tour of the facility. After unlocking the door, he waited for his client to arrive at the house. It didn't take long before Jack witnessed a slick black sedan drive into the driveway and park smoothly. Out of the car walked a small Asian woman dressed in business attire. She was petite, but very well kept together. Jack was impressed by how she held herself and was more than happy that he was offering a house to such a put together individual. As Amy approached, Jack smiled and reached out his hand. "Ms. Crane, I presume. Lovely to meet you, my name is Jack," he introduced. The young Asian woman returned the favor. "Likewise, Jack. And please, call me Amy. No need for formalities here. Shall we get started?" Jack nodded in response and then opened the door for Amy. He followed her into the house and immediately started giving her a detailed tour through the home.

Browsing each and every room of the house thoroughly, Jack made sure to take his time to allow Amy herself to get a gist of the home without him overexplaining it. After all, it was a potential living option for her, and to maximize the possibility of the sale, Jack wanted Amy not to have been overwhelmed by his presence. They had eventually made it around three quarters of the way through the home when Amy needed to excuse herself. "Are the two restrooms in the house functioning yet?" Jack nodded. "As a matter of fact, they are. The upstairs one is right there as soon as you turn the corner and the one down here is through the kitchen and to the left." Amy thanked Jack for the directions then walked out towards the downstairs restroom. In the meantime, Jack leaned on the nearby wall, feeling good about how things were going thus far. However, as he did so, he felt something in his coat pocket. He reached in to find out what it was and shook his head in frustration. It was the shrink ray. "I better not have activated it when I leaned on the wall," the agent spoke. Recently, it had been on a short delay following activation before it truly functioned. Jack had to wait a moment to know whether or not he did activate it.

Did Jack, in fact, activate the shrink ray?
