You leave your bungalow and set out for dinner. The late afternoon light had laid out shadows everywhere and you start imagining little people running in and out of the bushes under your feet.
This is silly and you laugh to yourself.
As you are about to enter the restaurant you notice a familiar face. It's Janet Malone, all alone, for dinner. Not one to normally tangle with a married woman, you hesitate for a moment until you realize that her spouse is eight inches tall and probably locked up in a cage in their room.
Janet recognizes you as you walk up to her and she asks if you are dining alone. Suddenly, it's dinner with Janet. Her husband can sit and stew.
