'Oh no, Mom and Dad are going to kill me!'' you think and rush home as the sun slowly rises.
Sure enough Mom and Dad are home. You walk in quietly, prepared to face the worst.
"(IYNH)! Where have you been??!" you mother demands, scolding and sounding relieved all at once.
"I...I hit my head on a tree when I was running, and it must have knocked me out," you say, and it sounds lame even to you.
"Likely story!" your father rumbles from his seat at the supper table. Part of your brain notes that, despite the fact that your parents must have been worrying, your father is consuming his usual huge supper spread. "Young man, you're grounded!"
You sit down at your place at the table feeling sore, tired, cold, and utterly defeated. Your father gives you a long cold stare, then finishes his diner. As you slump there, he kisses your mother good bye and stomps out the door.
"Are you all right?" asks your mother more gently, once your father's out the door.
"No," you say. "My head hurts, and I'm cold."
Your mother comes over and gently touchs your hair. "Where does it hurt? Inside?"
"No, on the top...move your hand up....OWWW!!!" you scream, as she touches the 'goose-egg' that has grown on your head from where you banged it.
"That's big," says your mother, surprised. "You'd better get some rest." She brings you something to drink, then says,
