You looked up to see the huge form of his brothers friend Jake. He was carrying a canister and hose. There was a skull and crossbones on the front. You gulped hard as he remembered what Jake did for a living. He was an Exterminator.
You recalled that Ron was having pest problems and he was there when watched Jake squish a creepy crawly under his huge work boot. The same ones he appears to be wearing now. Alan cowered on the corner. “Should I try to get his attention? “ he wondered, “or try to find a place to hide?”
He could see into Ron coat closet where he had some shoes he thought he could hide in at least until Ron got home.
Jake was busy looking the other direction and starting to spray in the corners of the room.
You decided to go for it and charged across the room. He was about ½ way there when Jake turned around. He saw something running across the floor and without thinking twice lifted his huge foot and slammed it down on you.
Jake noticed there was not the usual “crunch” that came with crushing a cockroach. Thinking it might have just got wedged between his boot treads he balanced on one foot lifting the other to look at the bottom. Well he was ½ right. It was wedged between his treads, but it wasn’t a cockroach.
Leaning down for a closer look he sees you. You try to fake a smile. “Ummm Hi Jake. Mind giving me a hand here ??”
Jakes eyes widen and he grabs a pen from his overalls pocket and carefully wedges you from his treads. You both realize you were partly flattened, but you felt no pain.
“What the…..?”
As you lay on the floor your body seams to reconstitute itself. When you get to your feet and look up you see Jakes giant hand reaching down as he snatches you up in his grasp. As you explain to him what happened and point over to where the book is Jake smiles.
