Daniel and Isabelle turned toward the voice beckoning the princess.
"Oh, great, it's mom," Isabelle groaned. "I think there's supposed to be a tea today. She rolled her eyes.
When Queen Jasmine discovered her daughter missing, she intuitively knew where she would be. She spent much too much time with that stable boy, handsome and sweet as he was. When would she mature enough to accept her responsibility as a princess?
"Heaven sakes, child!" Jasmine exclaimed upon entering the stable. "You look more like a prince than a princess in those cloths, not that a prince should ever let himself get so dirty. We are hosting a tea for noblemen's wives in an hour and a half, and I will need you looking your best." Jasmine turned her attention to Daniel. During her little tirade, he had dropped to one knee and respectfully stared at the ground. "Daniel, please take some responsibility for her duties as a princess since she obviously won't. She might actually listen to you."
Now Queen Jasmine loved her Isabelle immensely, and it was for this reason that she was often hard on her daughter. Isabelle knew this, and listened to her mothers words with what bit of patience she could muster up.
The Queen walked away, expecting her words to be obeyed.
