Granny Pinciotti eyed Donna in silence for a moment, looking her up and down as Donna shifted uncomfortably on the spot.
“Your so skinny deary” She announced finally, her voice deceptively sweet.
Donna rolled her eyes at this; Granny Pinciotti had always been obsessed with her weight even when she was a young child.
“I’m fine Gran…” Assured Donna, but Granny Pinciotti shook her head.
“But your nothing but skin and bones my dear” She said.
Donna fell quiet, knowing that arguing would only lead to a long winded argument.
“Are you hungry?” Said Granny Pinciotti innocently.
“Um… Yeah actually” Replied Donna.
Granny nodded happily at this before she spoke.
“Good good” She said, “I’ll fix you something to eat… Your nothing but skin and bones”
She then shuffled off towards the kitchen and Donna rolled her eyes again. She wished her grandmother would drop this obsession she seemed to have with her weight. Donna loved her figure very much and she wasn’t about to give it up just because her grandmother thought she was too skinny, she got enough shit from Jackie as it was let alone if she started to put on weight. Donna slumped down on the sofa and switched on the TV, happy to be free from her grandmothers company for the time being. After a short while of being hypnotized by the garbage on television, Donna smelt a wonderful aroma drifting into the room from the kitchen. Her mouth watered and her hunger announced itself by a loud rumbling coming from her stomach.
“Well… At least she’s a good cook” Donna said to herself.
After a further half an hour, in which time Donna had almost dozed off on the sofa, Granny called her name which indicated that food was ready to be served.
“Coming” Donna called back sleepily, as she slowly rose from the sofa with her stomach grumbling in anticipation.
As she entered the kitchen her grandmother smiled sweetly at her, though Donna noticed that she gave her figure a good look up and down again. Donna sat down at the kitchen table, ignoring her grandmother’s gaze. Granny Pinciotti then approached the table, holding what appeared to be a large smoking pie of some description.
“Please tuck in deary” Said Granny with a smile as she placed the pie in the middle of the table, with a plate in front of Donna, “Eat as much as you can, you’re a growing girl after all!”
Donna sighed at the last comment and grabbed a knife, cutting herself a decent slice which she then transferred to the plate. As she ate she hadn’t noticed that the expression on her grandmother’s face had changed, and a large smile was slowly spreading over her face as she watched her grand daughter eat.
