'Hmm, Gryffingdor?' Snape thought to himself, as he apsently picked off the ratty, old hat from his oily, black hair. 'I might never get a better chance at spying on Potter.'
"Congradulations." Dumbledore smiled, patting Snape on the head in a way that he found particularly infuriating. It took all of his self-control not to jerk away.
"What name do you go by?" Dumbledore continued kindly, as he glanced over the strangely familiar boy. There was something about him, he couldn't quite place it.
"my...name?" Severius whispered, starting to look nervious.
"Now dear boy, no need for shyness. Yes, your name will most certainly be a good start."
"Venton." Snape answered, looking away from the sharp blue eyes studying him intently. "Venton Snape."
"Snape? That's why you seem familiar. we have a teacher here by Snape. Related?"
"Would I have the same last name," The student-to-be-again, grounded out in cold irritation. "If I was not related to him? He's an uncle."
"Oh dear, I can certainly see the connection now." Dumbledore sighed, sitting back down. "May you learn to be more cheerful at least."
