Chapter #5Off you go again by: Bmao Its pretty clear what your next thing should be to do, said Drak. You've been transformed into a 11 year old human, and somehow you have managed to acquire all the prerequisite materials and textbooks to do as such. That can't be a coincidence. So Gil, your best cover would be to attend as a student.
"W-what? You're joking!!" you blurted out. Yet after thinking about it for a moment it made too much sense. If you were a student there would be less questions asking about exactly what you were. You'd be able to also enhance your own abilities and then potentially recruit other wizards to fight the Malthinae. How you'd do that as an 11-year-old, you had no idea, but you had to start somewhere.
"Well, if I'm going to be a student, I'm going to have to somehow get registered, and I don't have any information or paperwork or anything of the sort," you said. Like anywhere else, you expected that the school would keep information records on who was to attend, and a student not on the original roster would invite suspicion.
Then, there was a slight rustling of wind. You curved your head questioningly for any danger. Could it be magical creatures? Dark wizards? Malthinae? Yet it was none of those, but instead there was a letter that fluttered right into your arms. Your eyes went wide when you noticed that it was addressed directly to you.
That could only mean one thing. Someone already knew you were here.
"Should I open it?" you cried.
Of course. I don't sense any dark energies present... said Drak.
To Giljaras Dragoner
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The train shall be arriving soon so I would ask that you make due haste to arrive upon the platform to take your place in line. As for how I became aware of your arrival, perhaps it is a question better left unsaid at the moment. Thus, the best piece of advise that both of us can use at the moment is, don't ask, don't tell.
Sincerely
Albus Dumbledore
Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Well, I suppose that's convenient... said Drak.
"But now this Dumbledore knows about us..." you said worriedly. Did he already know you weren't from another world? Did somebody tell him that you were going to arrive.
Remember what the letter said, Don't ask, don't tell. So if we don't make too much fuss about it then Dumbledore won't ask about you either... said Drak.
That made you feel a little better. However, there was a problem of Drak.
"I don't think that Dragons are a common pet for 1st year students," you said. If you recalled correctly, dragons were considered dangerous creatures to these denizens and at the very least if Drak was discovered he'd be taken away to some dragon reserve, at the worst...well, you didn't want to think of the worst.
Yeah...I think that would be a bit of a problem... said Drak, lowering his head But the forest is quite large and I can remain fairly well hidden. And there's likely to be plenty of food! Again, even if Dumbledore knows about me already so long as I don't overhunt or anything I should be all right, regaining his optimism.
"Yeah, I hope you're right about that," you responded, patting him on the flank. "Now, lets not waste any more time, we've got to get to the castle!!"
The castle itself was easy enough to make out, as it was by far the brightest thing at this time of night. You made your way through the forest, making sure not to be noticed by anything more than your typical forest animal, before reaching a far off lake. You notice many kids being loaded into boats. That's where you're supposed to be.
"Can you get me a bit closer Drak? I don't think I can go so far by all by myself" you utter softly. You felt so vulnerable and helpless as an 11 year old instead of an 18 year old.
"Okay Gil, I'll take you over, but if I'm seen we're gonna have a lot of explaining to do" he nods firmly. Your face flashes an invisible thanks when you mount him.
He drops you off in a isolated clearing not too far from the lake. "I think I'd better get going Gil" Drak mutters solemnly as he dropped you off with your stuff. You heart dampens, you didn't want to have to separate from your dragon Drak so soon!! What if Drak got hurt all by himself!!
"Don't worry Gil, I'll be okay!!" Drak says, alleviating your concern. He gave you a long, deep hug with his wings, before you separated. Reluctantly, he then flew off into the lonely night toward the forest. Your baggage seemed to weigh down heavier and heavier the farther away he flew. Once his silouette faded from sight, you let out a sigh. Being separated from Drak was hard enough, but being separated after now being transformed into a puny 11 year old in a place you had never been before made you feel cold, confused, and so, so alone.
You switched your gaze toward the canoes, "No turning back now Gil, you've got to be a happy go lucky student now..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
