Chapter #4

No Help

    by: Unknown
As it turns out, it is Anna that comes stumbling out of the room. You seriously think about trying to get her attention up until the point where notice she really is stumbling. She looks kind of disheveled and she is holding her head in much the same way a person with a hangover would. You doubt she even notices she is only wearing a sock on one foot.

Anna is not in any condition to notice an inch tall man standing on the ground. It would be best to avoid her for now. You just make sure you stay against the wall as she staggers by and says, “I’ll never do that again, well, at least for another month or two.”

Then she disappears down the hall at a speed that you cannot help but envy. This leaves you alone in the hallway once more. You cannot say you are unhappy about that. It would have been nice to get some help from somebody, but the chances are you would have just been stepped on with Anna around in the condition she is in. All you can do is continue on your task for now.

You do make it to the dining room, eventually. It took that hangover a little while longer than you would have liked to start wearing off. That meant you had to take a lot more breaks than you should have while making your way down the hallway and to the dining room. It is just a good thing your room was on the same floor as the dining room because if you had to come down the stairs you would not have made it before everyone else started waking up. You are already an hour behind schedule as is.

The dining room table is in sight and all you have to do is figure out a way to get up the table. There is no table cloth that you can climb, no animal that could help you out like in “Honey I Shrunk the Kids,” and no materials you could make a glider or some crazy contraption out of like they do in cartoons. This is a real problem. Your brain works furiously to find a solution to this problem, but nothing is forthcoming.

This is especially frustrating since you can see a bowl full of jelly beans on the table. They are the size of large rocks to you but you are certain you could lift them and make some sort of message to let others know about your situation. You are so close to getting help. If only you could figure out how to get on top of that table you would at least find safety with the residents of your house.

You begin to walk around the table. There really is no point to it. You just do not know what else to do. Maybe you will find out what to do if you look at the table from every angle. There might be something on the floor that you did not see on the floor from your previous point of view. It is not like it can hurt to walk around the table. Besides, if you cannot find anything this is as good a place as any to try to get someone’s attention. And if they do not notice you, you can always run under the table for safety.

You have the following choices:

1. You find a way up the table.

*Noteb*
2. Someone walks into the room.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
