This was a phenomenal piece! I went to the Writer's Cramp forum to see what the prompt was today and saw your story. And you can be sure that I am so very glad to have checked it out. I'd put my vote on you to win. *Smile*

This is a interesting tale that you tell. For a Cramp story, this is remarkable polished and well thought out. I found your writing to be smooth, easy to read. The plot itself was nicely done, and the ending epic. This is a story that will cater to many people- people who like stuff with an edge, people who like science fiction, people who like stories with mild horror elements. The good thing is, even if people don't like SF, they will probably still be able to appreciate this. It's a very tactful and subtle horror/sci-fi piece. Overall, *Thumbsup*!

*Waterdrop* My Thoughts Regarding Improvement

In the eighth paragraph up from the bottom- I would suggest a comma after "Now" to induce a pause- this is not an area where you want the piece to flow unchecked.
