Hello, Elle ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What a nice poem, Elle! This one hits the spot, fulfilling all of the Scottish stereotypes I have in my mind. I guess what they say about Scotland is true! I'd love to visit sometime because it sounds like a beautiful place. I think the title you chose for this piece is excellent because it fits so well with the content. ![]() My favorite part about this poem is that you built such an image in my head. You hit all the senses perfectly. The sights of the hills and castles are vividly described. The smell of the malted whiskey being carried through the breeze only builds to the scene in my mind. I love the feeling of experiencing something I haven't experienced just because a writer described it so well, and that's the feeling I get with this poem. My favorite part was the last line. It ends on such a strong note with, "...and Scotland's heart beats fiercely to the bagpipe's droning cries." ![]() I read about Triolets, thank you for the link on that one because I wouldn't have known what it was otherwise. I was wondering why the lines kept ending with the word "hills". ![]() ![]() ![]() I enjoyed reading this poem and getting a glimpse into some of the things you saw in Scotland. You definitely make it sound like an interesting and fun place to visit. It doesn't matter how well you describe it, I'd still like to see it for myself! Thanks again for sharing with us. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ![]() ![]()
