*BalloonR* Welcome to WDC from "Newbie Welcome WagonOpen in new Window.! *BalloonR*

What brought Hoovsie meandering in a space time continuum over to your port?

*Cow* I am the judge for today in "Writer's Cramp wishes WDC Happy 25th!Open in new Window.. Thanks for entering!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* The one thing that you can count on in history is that events repeat themselves. This is mainly because humans don't learn from or pay attention to past mistakes. So, they keep going into battle for things that are temporary and fleeting while leaders send them on their way.

Your rhyme flows well and you have done a good job with incorporating the prompt lines at the beginning and the end.

*Notebl* Don't forget, next time, to bold the line both at the beginning and the end, as Sophy wishes WDC Happy 25th! Author Icon indicated in her instructions! *Notebl*

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"There’ll always be another Achilles
In the endless epic of history.
Kill, be killed, we’ll always know at least -
“This is not the end of the story.”

We kid ourselves even here in thinking that we are special or our work means much. It is all a temporary thing and the only thing that matters is to keep the process flowing and the writing going forward. Other things matter to me, but that's not the way of the world much anymore, is it?

Timeless writing about the nature we call human. Sometimes, I think it's the saddest predicament there is - to be human and to feel hurt at the actions of others. When you add physical pain of battle, it's time for some serious introspection.

Well done, poetically speaking!

I am not an expert on poetry or prose or much else. I am certainly not an editor or proof reader, heaven forbid! I am merely a reader who loves to read and the judge for today in "Writer's Cramp wishes WDC Happy 25th!Open in new Window.. I look at a review as my personal and unique reaction to what I have read and a sharing of what I bring to the table on any given day. Sometimes I don't bring much, but I enjoy my reading adventures either way.

This site is open to all sorts of writers and reviewers. I like to keep an open mind about reading and reviewing. My own personal preference for reviews is that they be concise and more about the writing than the knowledge (or lack thereof) of the reader.

My goal is to encourage you to continue your writing adventures. You are the ultimate judge as to whether I have been successful in that endeavor.

Either way, I enjoyed my visit with you immensely.

I submitted this to the Good Deeds program because I think volunteering my time as a judge and sending a thoughtful review qualifies as a good deed for the site. The fact that I enjoy doing it is a bonus to me. I highly recommend reading and reviewing other entries to all the entrants of every contest.
