Please bear in mind these notes are from one on the outside looking in; ultimately only you can decide what's right for your story.  Overall Impression. First, welcome to Writing.com. I noticed you joined on 1 Jan--was that by design or accident?I found your anguish poignant. I'm sure many folk hold similar feeling because of the present societal norms. I hate that "norm" is even used to reflect today. Perhaps your writing style--short, incomplete sentence structure--is by design. But as a reader, I found it challenging to read, beginning with your title. I've taken some time just to ponder it, yet I'm still puzzled by it. What does Gegen- signify? Notwithstanding my proclivities for the written word and its proper (to my mind) structure, I found your lament about society today to be spot on.  Technical and Editorial Considerations. In this section I normally list those areas that relate specifically to the mechanics of your writing--punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. I won't cite specific structure issues here; I suspect you know about what I speak.
