Hello Lornda Author Icon

First impression:

This place calls itself advice forum. I have to admit, I wasn't immediately sure what the acronym SPR stood for. This might be something to consider as acronyms quickly become ingrained in some people, but newcomers don't know what they mean.

What works:

The welcoming message is thorough and helps newcomers to get situated quickly.

The General Links, the Articles on Writing, and the links to the Informative Newsletters about Reviewing are great resources with tons of knowledge to absorb.

What needs work:

All the links that appear to go to chapters within "Writing.Com 101Open in new Window. all go to the main page of that book. If I were a newbie and I expect to find a template, I am now on the "Writing.Com 101Open in new Window. landing page and don't even know what I'm looking for.

You should try to hunt down the chapters that should be linked and use the "entry" link to guide newbies or those who want to use this forum to learn about reviewing directly to those resources.

Final thoughts:

I love the How to Post a Message explanation. All of these things can be super intimidating at first since the site uses it's own proprietary coding language WritingML. It's a learning curve and your item here is making it easier.
