Letter from the editor

How will Newbies built Confidence in WDC?

I can't imagine that I've already been in WDC for 8 years.

I was having a nostalgia when last month I've received a review
on those first item that I've created here in WDC
which makes me remember- when I was still a newbie here.
Though it makes me feel sad that some friends are gone and not active already or not hanging around here.
But when meeting new friends here, it gives me again a new fresh start which makes me feel I'm still a 'newbie. *Bigsmile*

Honestly, I am very shy when I am still a 'new in wdc so I've even didn't immediately shared and posted my first item here,
that is why my pen name is so far from my real name.

But thanks to WDC
for sharing writing and reviewing everyday, it built my confidence.

There are some keys that come into my mind on how WDC builds confidence in me.

*Tackg* 1. Writing-
As the encouraging slogan here- write on!- in which it says a lot.
This simple slogan encouraged me to write-again.
I've started short poems here until it grows and spring my 'on the closet locked passion of poems.
The more I've engaged to writing, the more I became comfortable with, to use the English language.
Though, I knew my English grammar is not perfect and it just simple wordy if it will compare to others, but my passion and the uniqueness of each one gives me the confidence, so I don't care what others may say- as long as I will 'voice out my thoughts- *Bigsmile*
Through writing and experimenting different genres this is where I've discovered my real voice-
Thanks to God He highlighted what genre would be best for me.*Smile*

*Tackg* 2. Reviewing
There was a time here in WDC that I've become addicted to reviewing,*Geek*
especially when I've received awards and titles from different groups.
This made me gain a lot of confidence too.
Reviewing is so good- you can gain friends and help them too. *Bigsmile*

*Tackg* 3. Activities and Contest
The different activities and contest plays also a good role in the motivation process for newbies, as well as winning friends.
It's not necessary to become a winner, every participant will always have a good consolation- like a contest that automatically gives reviews to entries but most of all winning friends. *Delight*

*Tackg* 4. Groups and Forums
Yes- groups and forums can be a good socialization here- and can build confidence even if it's only virtual.
Personally I am a shy person and anti-social- an introvert kind, a loner.
But WDC through its groups and forums gives me confidence to be brave and enjoy the company of people even if it's only virtual.*Pthb*

Though many years have passed, maybe many experiences here I've already encountered everyday.

But I still feel like a 'newbie whenever I meet new friends, but I keep and treasure the older friends.

And looking for more encounters and experience to learn, because each day has its own unique way of learning building in me more confidence. *Heart*
