Life without action is static, and by necessity, it would therefore be dead. Action writing takes the normal and shares it for all to live vicriously.
Adventure is the spice: the exciting, adrenalin-pumping, thrill that makes one feel so alive. Everyone has an adventuresome spirit. Maybe dreams of excavating some long-lost treasure, visiting a new country, or trying a new flavour of potato chip. Some of us prefer our adventures to come between the pages of a book, and many of us like to write that adventure.

ACTION/ADVENTURE MOVIE MANIA
Who doesn't love a good movie? The genre of Action and Adventure certainly has its fair share of movies credited to it.
So what are your favourite Action/Adventure movies?
For subscribers to the Romance/Love Newsletter, you may remember Lexi 's Romance Movie Showdown, and now she is currently working on a Romance Song Showdown. Lexi has kindly permitted me to run a similar exercise in the Action/Adventure Newsletter. Thank you, Lexi .
From now until my next issue, you will have a chance to nominate your top five action/adventure movies. Then I will have a voting round, and so we will proceed until we have found the number one most popular Action/Adventure movie of all time.
When making your nominations, it doesn't matter how old the movie is, or whether it crosses and/or mixes genres.
My current favourites include ... well, that would be telling. I've taken the survey to nominate my choices, so now it's over to you.
So, what are you waiting for? Go do the survey, and have your say.

Another Extinction Level Event would be Genocide. The human destruction would bring a myriad of emotions to the reader. Besides the nazi's attempts for Genocide, there are others throughout history unknown that have taken much from our world.

This is an all-too-real one, which I had completely forgotten. Thank you for adding it to the mix.
Throughout the years, there have been many reports that Jesus was coming, computers all
over the world were going to crash, and the world would then cease to exist.
In 1995, when I was pregnant with my only child, my self-righteous, domineering,
arrogant, egotistical, brain-washed pentecostal bigot of an aunt-in-law told me I would
not live to see my son reach the age of five because the world was coming to an end on
1/1/2000.
I knew she was wrong. The new millennium wouldn't start until 1/1/2001. Also, (from
Wikipedia.com)"according to early tradition, the writing of this book took place near the
very end of Domitian's reign, around the AD 95 or 96. Others contend for an earlier date,
AD 68 or 69, in the reign of Nero or shortly thereafter."
With that said, don't you think it's possible that we still have another 67-97 years left
on this planet? Maybe we all survived the new millennium because the souls of the
members of Heaven's Gate actually did take a ride on the spaceship that was hiding behind
the Hale-Bopp comet, and when they got to their destination, they convinced God to forgive
us our tresspasses.
He agreed, but periodically sends us warnings like 9/11, the 2004 Tsunami, Hurricane
Katrina, movies like "The Day After Tomorrow"...
I am not an atheist by any sense of the word. I believe in the Father Almighty... I
live in Florida. I have seen first-hand the damage a hurricane can do emotionally,
mentally, physically, economically... It's devastating.
God changed the Covenant once. The Protestants chose to keep their flock ignorant of
many of God's words by not including some of the books of that Covenant from their
biblical canon, but most people have continued to follow His words despite their
ignorance of them (i.e. Sirach 28:1-15). Maybe God has decided change things again since
we are inherently good.

A very intriguing response to my last newsletter. You raise many issues here, which are probably more suited to the Spiritual newsletter than the Action/Adventure Newsletter. But you are right, there are many disasters which have such devastating effects on humankind. God does not cause these, but He does allow them to happen. They happen because we live in a sinful world, and man's own sin has caused the destruction of what God created originally created as good.
I do not know the time of Jesus' return to earth. We could have another one thousand years, or a single month. Personally I can only live each day to the best of my ability, obeying God's will and His commands, so that I may stand secure in my eternal salvation on the day of judgement.
The books you mention left out of the canon are not part of the accepted canon. For further reading on this, see "Invalid Entry" . The relevant portion is towards the end, but you may find the rest of it interesting, also. |
