Belonging

"True belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world." ~ Brene Brown

I got some great feedback from my last newsletter on imperfection and accepting our flaws. It feels great to know I'm not alone! That is certainly one of the main benefits from Writing.Com, finding your people and a sense of belonging.

There are so many ways to interact on the site, including contests, groups, interactives, journals, forums, and reviewing!

I feel like the way this site is set up, it's easy to see each member as a person, not just a faceless portfolio. By adding a bio, photos, journals, and other personalization, we can customize our portfolios to reflect our own individuality. And maybe it's easier for writers to see the people behind the writing and portfolios, too.

For me, this site has always felt like a place of acceptance, a welcoming site that lets each member participate in their own way and in their own time. You can join as many activities as you want with as much or as little time as you have! It's a place to find community and family, where we can share our writing and find great reads, too.

Recently I celebrated 19 years on this site, and I hope to be here another 19 at least! *Bigsmile*

Check out my picks below for ways to interact and connect with others!

Take care, and as always, keep on writing! *Quill*

Feedback from my last newsletter "Contests & Activities Newsletter (May 3, 2023)Open in new Window., which discussed perfectionism:

Great newsletter! It's so important to forgive ourselves when we mess up. I'm a lot like you...more forgiving to others. I tend to beat myself up when I mess up. Recently I received an email reminding me I hadn't sent an MB to that member, owed months before. I was horrified that I had somehow missed that. I ended up sending the MB plus added gift points. The member was super nice about my boo-boo, but I'm still feeling terrible about it. {/c:rose} ~ Cubby Author Icon

I would probably feel the same, but I hope you can also forgive your mistake, too! I'm glad the situation worked out well!

Greetings Spidey,
I do hope you are doing well today. I thank you so much for sharing this on being a perfectionist. I struggle with this and with my writing, my personal life and work especially. A few of the best Team Leaders I had at the job would and still say to me Give Yourself A Little Grace. I really think that applies to everything in life we do. Thanks so much for sharing this piece. It helped a lot. Have a beautiful blessed day. :) :)
Yours Truly,
Bill G.

Thanks! I'm glad my newsletter could help! *Smile*

Thanks for featuring my activity newsletter! *Heart*

As for the newsletter itself, I think we've all had those 'ooops' moments when running activities or making promises. Life gets in the way. And ADHD... Oh, I can relate completely. *Bigsmile*
