Life without action is static, and by necessity, it would therefore be dead. Action writing takes the normal and shares it for all to live vicariously.
Adventure is the spice: the exciting, adrenalin-pumping, thrill that makes one feel so alive. Everyone has an adventuresome spirit. Maybe dreams of excavating some long-lost treasure, visiting a new country, or trying a new flavour of potato chip. Some of us prefer our adventures to come between the pages of a book, and many of us like to write that adventure.

Write Puditat an Adventure
Action requires doing something and Adventure means that action should be something we have not done before. Moving from our comfort zone provides interest, excitement, and opportunity for (mis)adventure.
So this month I'm doing something a little different for this issue. I am going to provide a prompt, and I want you to write me a story that is...
::: realistic
::: uses creative descriptions
::: and, of course, full of action.
I've chosen prompts that may not necessarily lend themselves to action, and that is part of the challenge - to take the ordinary and make it interesting.
This is not about prizes, though I will review every entry and the entry I like the most will receive a 10k awardicon. Other entries may be awarded smaller prizes as I deem appropriate. A handful will be featured right here in my next issue of the Action/Adventure Newsletter.
This challenge is about action and adventure -- it is moving me from my comfort zone. I am committing myself to whatever entries find their way to my inbox - to read, judge, and report. So here is your chance to join me, actually, to create for me, my adventures.

So there it is...have fun with it and I look forward to seeing where your creativity takes you (and me).

Hi Puditat
Good job. I like the analogies you have made to real life situations and characters in writing.
larryp
Thank you, Larry. I appreciate your support always.
You made a simple 'ordinary' camping trip an adventure ~ a splendid example of 'showing' a character's inner strength, focus; giving depth to the character and thereby action and depth to the story itself! Thank you for an insightful newsletter. Do hope your next camping trip is a bit less 'adventurous,' or not.
Kate - Writing & Reading
Thank you. It was a pure adventure in the living, but we're saving up so we can stay in a cabin next year.
