Letter from the editor

Children are a great comfort in your old age -- and they help you reach it faster, too. Lionel Kauffman.

Some of may know that I have three boys of my own, and never a day passes, that all three do not delight me in some small or huge way, but my middle child, never rests, in his natural talent for tormenting any thing, or doing the most embarrassing things, I am usually the victim. Often I will have another mom see me go, with a mix look of relief or pity, I am never sure which, when my son strikes.

Picture with me...... *Blush* Waiting in the hot son. my son is six, We are in a huge line up with other kids, all testy, and their parent of choice, for our turn to go down the child's water slide. There is a seriously overweight man and his daughter in front of us, total back hair coverage has been obtained, "BO" (OH! MY!) his best friend.

My son before I could stop him, Pokes the man, one finger plugging his nose, and in a voice I have come to love and fear says, " Sir, You smell so bad! My mom says we all should bath, why don't you?" If I could of disappeared, I would of. *Blush*

Humor of a five year old mind.... *Heart*

Excerpt: The word "Gotcha" is quickly becoming a household name in this small home of mine. I'm often perplexed by the son's need to playfully torment anything that moves. He will snicker and smile the most heart-melting smile a mother can behold while driving some other person, animal, or even automatic doors or elevators to distraction. My son will tease things that cannot be teased and get great enjoyment out of how it makes him feel.

I often entertain family, friends, school staff with delightful stories of my son's mischief. Like the time my husband came home from a long hard day's labor to find myself sitting comfortably reading Stephen King's The Dark Half and asked for a change of clothes. I replied that his clothes were in the closet. My husband then unfastened his pants and proceeded to look. He had his back to our bedroom door and before I could utter a single word of warning our son came bursting into our room and whoosh! pulled his father's pants down to his ankles. It all happened in a blink of the eye with our boy's note worthy words singing true,"Gotcha! Daddy." It was indeed a worthy moment, my husband's flushed face and how fast that man can move and my son's hysterical giggling at success in embarrassing his father.

I still laugh over this many of times, and all the other things, kids do, not just mine. Memories like this, one we sometimes wish never happen at their moments of occurence, but always look back share remember, love, laugh over. I am just thankful at this one time, I was not the victim. *Wink*

Laughter brings love, attention, utter delight, gentle happy thoughts everyone remembers. CandyStaiNeCane Author Icon I always say, in my way to stay sane some days, mostly when embrassment occurs, I am sure I will never live down strikes.
