About This Newsletter

Still learning the ropes, this second edition of the CONTESTS & ACTIVITIES Newsletter written by me will feature IN & OUTS. I hope to re-visit an activity and shed some sunshine on it, in hopes that many will take the time this week to participate in one of the many IN and OUTS featured here on-sight.

IN & OUT

~What is an IN & OUT?
~How can I use one to my benefit?

By site definition IN & OUTS :
are an interactive means for lists or rolling stories and will only show up to the last100 additions made by members who visited before you. Every time a new addition is made, the last addition on the page will be bumped off. It’s IN with the new and OUT with the old!

This is the basic definition of an in and out, but how can that relate to me or my group? In and Outs can be used for a wide variety of items.

*Note*Birthday Celebrations:
Want to hold a celebration for someone special? Do you know someone having a birthday? Hosting an in and out in their honor is a great way to celebrate. Friends can drop in and leave messages throughout the day of that special event. The interaction back and forth gives it a great party atmosphere.

*Note*Contest Entries:
One great use of this application has been to use it for currently running contests. Entrants list their submission for the current running contest, and it is on display for all to see. This allows everyone to see what is submitted in one place. No hunting through posts to view the entries.

*Note*Group Announcements:
When making several short announcements for group leaders, or for groups that take turns giving out credits to members, an in and out can provide the perfect outlet for keeping track of everything that has been done. For instance, if a group gives reviewers credit, then one person takes a time slot, credits the reviews, then posts in the in and out the time frame. The next person coming in can easily see where the previous one left off. No need for assigning time slots and easily see what has been previously done.

*Note*Interactive word play:
Many hosts have enlisted this activity as a place to have fun with words and phrases, with each new participant building off of the last entry. Some pretty wild fun has come about due to this.

*Note* Guest books:
A huge use of the In and Out is the guest book. Stop by a port and leave a message introducing yourself to the author you are visiting. Many new friends have been made using the activity in this fashion.

In Summary, I am positive there is some avenues I have left unexplored, however I challenge all readers to find a creative use for this great activity. Create a unique IN & OUT and see the responses you get!
