Have you wondered how the muse behind an adventure comes alive? Most likely it is from a life situation that took a strange turn. When I think about action, I think about my life and the adventures that entwine it, albeit, unplanned.

Hello, folks! It is my honor and privilege to be your guest editor for this Action/Adventure Newsletter.
I have often called my life a living comic strip or cartoon. I've even dubbed those close to me with names that are reminiscent of comic book magazines.
We are the "Web" bunch. You all know Web~Witch, that's me, and many of you know Web-Warlock, or Web-Lock as I've nick-named him. He is my partner in comedy, romance, spirit and adventure, and way too often, mis-adventure.There is also Web-Mom, Web-Son and daughters, and of course, we live in Web-Town.
We love to travel a lot and inevitably, come across little bumps in the road that make the trip a little more adventurous than we originally planned. One day we were chased by a tornado, from Minnesota to Wisconsin. I heard the sirens go off in several cities, while WL, (that's Web-Lock for short-short. ) tried to maneuver the car and strain to see the road beneath the torrential rain and at times, hail. When we finally pulled into a hotel, far away from the dangerous storms, I looked in the mirror and saw a few, new white hairs standing straight-up on my red locks. You know what they say, don't you? Pluck one gray hair and seven sisters will show up to its funeral.
Of course, for all of you UFO/Sci-Fi, adventure, lovers, there was an incident WL and I experienced, at Sebastian Inlet, in Florida. I looked overhead as I heard this strange humming noise. (WL couldn't hear it because he is profoundly deaf, so I nudged him to look up.) Poised right above us was this thing, kind of like a giant bug, with its swept forward, V-shaped wings. We were fascinated by its unusual appearance and moves. It was hovering for a while and then moved out of sight. It came back again and kept circling the area.
I thought to myself they could be aliens and they are planning on sucking me up into their baby ship to take me to the mother ship. I was wearing a bathing suit and fantasized that they were circling over me because they thought I was a great example of a human specimen for them to want to take back to their "Motherland." Of course, I have an exaggerated confidence about my beauty and voluptuous curves that makes me think I am the object of their fascination and a worthy subject for their experiments.
It turns out that the flying object of our obsession turned out to be one of our own, USA made, drones. So what was it doing hovering over a beach? It's not manned by humans. I'd better pore over the net to see if the government is selling pictures of me, in my skimpy, lying on the beach, to help pay for the deficit! Again, exaggerated confidence ...
I live in a money pit that needs constant upgrades, repairs or renovations. WL and I started some home improvements a year ago, January, but had to put that on hold because we had a house fire. The antique fire-box was made mostly of wood back in the day and over the years, the shifting of the house loosened some mortar, which was the only fire retardant separating burning cinders from the wooden structure. Each time a fire was built in one of the fireplaces, the house was getting a little more barbecued!
Ready, set, action! A fireman scrambles inside the door to save the house followed soon after by the rest of his brigade, wielding axes through singed wood, while another climbed the long ladder to the roof. We were told to leave the house. I scrambled-up my laptop and all the tax filing papers on my desk and left the premises.
There are onlookers, either concerned or pretending to be concerned. A donut and coffee "dolly" shows up to keep the firefighters fed and energetic. Folks, there is something so hot about the athletic movements of our brave firefighters on an urgent mission, climbing, wielding axes, dragging hoses, carrying and chopping their way into the battle of man v flame.
Mysteries are so often filled with adventure. I remember in my youth, thinking that Nancy Drew was the best detective. My mind was swept into the darkened house, while I climbed the stairway to the attic along with Nancy, in my mind's eye. I knew something eerie or someone sinister would be there, waiting to make me jump right out of my skin.
My life is filled with adventures that tend to be comical. I write about them in the Comedy Newsletter. Adventures are specific actions that cross genres, bringing readers on a fast-paced journey, that keeps them enthralled, gives them chills, thrills and keeps them hooked right to the end.
So, folks, remember to bring a little adventurous spice to your next romance, drama, or mystery writings. Whether the stories are based on real life, fiction, fantasy or a bit of them all, keep your readers on their toes or at the edge of their seats and help them to chase away the blahs of a boring day.
That's all she wrote for this week's edition of the Action/Adventure, Newsletter.
Perhaps we'll meet again, the next time my adventurous muse draws me back to guest hosting this Newsletter.

Since this is my first time editing the Action/Adventure Newsletter, I have no comments to share with you. Perhaps YOU will be the first! There may be a Merit Badge to the first one who sends me some feedback. That's right, I am not above a little bribery, folks. Hey I could be generous and send another MB or two.
Until next time, keep the muse fresh and active!
