Review Groups: These are groups who focus on spreading cheer, love, and helpful suggestions to members -of the group or WdC as a whole, through reviewing. These are probably the most common type of group and, to me, one of the most important types of groups since, well, this is a writing website and none of us are perfect, right?
Support Groups: These are groups that have a foundation in supporting one another or the community in various ways -this could be chatting, prayer, helping with funds, etc... Some of these groups are based upon one specific thing (like prayer or illness).
Temporary Groups: These are groups that are created for the purpose of a raffle or similar activity to keep the person (or people) running it sane. Most of the time, the group is deleted or cleared out at the end of the activity.

Community: WdC is a wide and vast land and while we are all part of one common community, it is nice to sometimes have that 'small town feel' and connect with a smaller group rather than every single member of the website. The biggest benefit to joining WdC is the friends that you make and joining groups makes that even easier.
Gift Points: Many of the groups that focus on reviewing reward you with gift points for every review that you do -Restrictions and rules vary by group, but the basic gist is this: follow the rules, review, get rewarded.
Reviews: Some review groups also focus on reviewing their own members, so you can easily get more reviews by joining such groups.
Inspiration: The obvious here is that 'Writing Groups' will inspire you, but the reviewing groups can prove quite beneficial in this way as well since reading and reviewing can often ignite a fire in your head just as easily as a challenge.
Support: Yes, this is hand-in-hand with community, but not really... Community will support you, but having a smaller group of friends (family) to help you through something or just to support you in general is golden.

To find groups of which you already a member, click My Account on the Left side of your screen, then click Group Memberships.
To find groups to join, click Browse by Type on the Left side of your screen and then click Groups.
If you're looking for a reviewing group, click Reviews on the Left side of your screen and then click Most Actively Reviewing Group; This, of course, shows many more groups than those focusing on reviewing, but it's a great way to see groups that are active.

I always find time running ahead of my schedule. Don't mind for having given less time than your writing deserves. I am alone sitting atop a hill to watch the the world caught up in a stampede-like situation. I am sitting on guard of those people who are not yet caught up. AUGH! Everything you wrote is So. True. I have a folder on my computer with dozens of works I started years ago and fell out of love with. I keep promising myself I'll get around to them someday, but there are new ideas in my head and fun prompts that I want to play with first...
I never thought of putting these in my portfolio here for review and revision. Hmmm... thanks for the thought! Maybe my port won't have to be so barren after all!

Thanks for this newsletter!! I've been feeling sad and pathetic that I have so many unfinished projects. I've been afraid to post most of them, unfinished, unpolished, and undirected ramblings that give a closer glimpse of the unstructured rough drafts they are. I was very encouraged by this newsletter. Sometimes, I read through my newsletter, or skim sometimes, then delete. The ones that I like I refer to over and over again, not deleting until my box is too full for my taste. Thank you for being real with us. For letting us know that I'm not the only one who this applies to. On the bright side, I have quit cracking my knuckles but are still battling other delay tactics.
