About This Newsletter

What traits do we find attractive? What drives us to find love and want to learn that special someone by heart? What makes us want to go deeper? I thought I'd explore the world of attraction in today's newsletter.

Letter from the editor

What is it about that special someone who elevates our pheromones and catches our attention? Is it the gleam in his or her eye? Their smile? The way they walk? Their hair? Their physical stature? The sound of their voice? The way they smell - like the gentle scent of spring flowers or the clean, spicy scent of aftershave?

All of the things I've named above have one thing in common - they're all physical traits. When I first met my husband, I found his eyes offered kindness, he had a sweet smile, and he had a nice physicality to him that complimented mine. I wanted to get to know him beyond mere small talk. I wanted to get to know what his personality was like.

For me, I find a person's personality is that part of them which is really attractive, but it's the element of physical attraction that catches our attention.

What caught your attention? Their smile? Their eyes? Or did you get to know their personality first and realize you were in love with your best friend? I'd love to hear your stories.

Here are some tag lines used in romantic writing to convey attraction.

She possessed a slim, wild beauty
She had a wealth of dark hair
She appeared ethereal in the dim light
His massive shoulders filled the coat he wore
His lips were red and firm
He had thick, tawny-gold hair
His lips curved into a devastating smile
His laugh was deep and rich
Her eyes glowed with enjoyment.

Note: I enjoyed all the stories in the editor's selection. Write in and tell me what was the first thing the hero/heroine noticed in one of the stories I've posted above and I'll give the first 3 merit badges for "attention to detail."
