Action Adventures Live in You
The best adventures that we have a collective knowledge of were imagined by people just like you.
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll was published in 1865. Lewis Carroll started writing it in summer 1862 after rowing down a part of the River Thames at Oxford. That day on the water with three young girls and their father spawned at first the story of Alice's Adventures Under Ground and was later expanded upon to include episodes about the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Tea-Party.
Aside from being a writer, Lewis Carroll was also a mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer. He had plenty of boring things to do. Yet, in him was that wondrous adventure that has endured the test of time. Alice in Wonderland has been picked up by all forms of media, it's even a ride in the Disney amusement parks.
J.K. Rowling was a young, single mother when she started writing Harry Potter and published it in 1997. The adventures of Harry Potter, that start when he was 11-years old, have become a world-wide phenomenon with movies and not just a ride in a theme park, but their own theme park!
To write adventures, you don't have to live an adventurous life. Close your eyes and start imagining people, places, actions, and start writing. The stories that attract the most readers will always somewhat fall into the action/adventure genre. Of course, other genres come in too. Fantasy, Comedy, Drama, or Horror are parts of those stories. But the stories that really capture reader's attention are action adventures. Imagine some. Read some. Write some.

Comments I got for my last Action Adventure Newsletter "The Oldest Action Adventures"
BIG BAD WOLF is Howling wrote: Sometimes, History is Now. "The Reptilian Chronicles"
History is always now. Depends on who won (the moment) to decide how those coming after will know it.
LostGhost: Seeking & Learning wrote: I am doing a course from Coursera about Greek mythology. I went through Odyssey for that and realized, even though the verses were written centuries ago, they still hold the truth.
I attempted it too. It was too much for me. My fault though. I tried to do too many things at once. It was a good class for sure.
billwilcox wrote: I guess it doesn't matter how old a story is, if it's got plenty of action and adventure in it people will read it for years and years to come. A good story IS a good story, from now until forever. Great newsletter Giselle!
Thank you for the praise! And yes, a good story doesn't get old. Ever.
jim1184 wrote: Excellent topic great reminder.Greek and Roman mythology is a gold mine. For those of us following a Celtic road, The Mabinogion gives us some great Welsh legends. The Tain Bo Cuailnge and tales from the Ulster cycle are other productive mines.
True! Those old Northern and Western European people have some epic tales.
