Soul Mates
There is really only one thing I can write about today, for it is something uppermost on my mind.
You see today, the day I'm writing this, is my Seventh Wedding Anniversary. And what more can I think of, than my wonderful, loving man -- the one whom I call my husband, my friend, and my soul mate.
It led me to think though... We all bandy about the term 'soul mate'. What exactly is a soul mate? So I pulled out my dictionary and it says: "a person for whom one has a deep affinity." The Collins Dictionary
Hmm, okay. I didn't really think that gave me enough of a clue, so I delved a bit deeper, and in the same dictionary looked up "affinity". This is what it defined affinity as: a natural liking, taste or inclination for....a close similarity in appearance or quality."
I'm starting to get a picture. A soul mate is one who you have a deep affection for, are similar in quality to, and who you find it natural to be with.
I feel it is these things which separate a soul mate from a best, or any other kind of friend.
Have you experienced when a person knows what you're thinking? My husband and I do it all the time, and quite frankly, it can be scary how often we are thinking, or say, the exact same thing at the same time. We even have a little linking of fingers we do when this happens. It is a rare day when there is no reason to link our pinkies.
We share the same views, though I have not worked out whether this is a necessity in a soul mate relationship. Then again, there must be enough 'similarities' of interest and belief, so perhaps it is a prerequisite for a soul mate.
So, I cannot dally on this topic, as I have a present to arrange and a card to make for my wonderful soul mate and husband.
If you have found your soul mate, treat them to some special attention today. It does not need an anniverary, Valentine's Day or similar occasion to show your love and gratitude for their presence in your life.
Till next time;

Thank you for this NL. It is good to lay out the choices for folks who have no clue which of the 5 million versions of the Bible they ought to pick up for themselves, so your breakdown I am sure will be particularly useful for some of these folks!
Brians Next Novel Almost Done!
Thank you!
I would like to comment on bible translations. Many of the new translations are based on the "Critical Text"(CT), which is a new greek manuscript that was created in the 1800s by Wescott and Hort. The mainstay of the CR is the Vaticanus manuscript, which was stashed away in the Vatican library. One of the other primary manuscripts was "rescued" from the trash in a monastary. Both manuscripts have clear evidence of alterations and numerous errors. Parts of these (conflicting) manuscripts were combined with bits and pieces of a few other manuscripts to create the CT. Erasmus, a scholar heavily involved in the manuscript that would become the KJV, knew of these textual variants and rejected them. Further, God promised many times that His Word would be preserved. Also of note, is that the KJV is public domain, whereas many of the new versions are copyrighted, thereby greater profit can be reaped by producing a new "more accurate" translation.
Consider the Consequences
Thank you for the additional information, much of it was outside of my knowledge. I can not comment on the copyright aspect, as I have not looked into this, but as a thought - perhaps it is to protect the cost of hiring experts to sift through ancient documentation to bring us the most accurate and readable rendition possible...???
You have done a wonderful job with this edition of this newsletter. Great job!

Unfortunately I accidentally deleted dear Jessie's feedback sent to my email. I responded to her via email, but I just wanted to add a public "Thank you" to you, Jessiebelle, for your thoughts, which caused me to consider things I may not have. Hugs!
