Buddies

What if there are others like you out there?

How many times have you looked at your own writing and wondered how someone else would feel about it? Would they be entertained? Would they get attached to your characters? Would they like to spend time in your fictional world? Would they buy it, if they saw it in a bookstore shelf?

The best way to find out the answer to all of those questions is to find people who will read your writing. Not just skim it and then give you a friendly pat on the back. No, someone who will go into your text and feel it. Someone who will let your characters live in their imagination and get to know them. Someone who will walk through your fictional world in wonder and want to explore all the nooks and crannies.

Here on Writing.Com, you can post your writing and hope that someone else will see it and spend the time to read it and then let you know how they felt about your writing.

This is where it gets tricky.

Because we are all online, we don't know each others backstories, life experiences, and other information that shaped our writing. This is good because everyone who reads your writing can give you a view of your writing from a fresh perspective. This works really well for short stories. It doesn't really work for novels as most readers want novels to be finished before they start reading.

That's why finding a writing buddy can be the solution to write something that is consistent, yours, but has also been seen by someone else.

Find a writing buddy. Exchange writing. Or if only one has time to write and the other only has time to read and review, that works too. As long as both have a benefit from it, be it creative or by being entertained.

I loved the experience and would like to have it again. I become very motivated in my writing and the ideas continued. If someone would love this experience with me, please message me.
