How should I write them? A Pokémon question.

Poll Question:
I'm going to be straight, I couldn't watch Journeys when it came out. As I research the series, I found that the new characters weren't entirely liked.

This leads me to wonder: should I keep them as they are in the show, or should I give them a small rewrite? Not so much that they're different characters, but give them a bit more character.
