Uninspired

Greatness eludes me,
A reflection in the mirror
That is gone when you look again
A ripple in the water
That never really was.

People are forgotten
But I imagine they are here
Although I do not know them anymore
And I am searching for reality
That isn't really there.

And it's ironic because
Imagination is escape from reality
But for me it is real
It is where greatness lurks
Just out of reach.
