Here in Iowa stands a town
not too big but I have found
that those who live there and seek happiness
have to get it from a secret clown.

Yes he lives together with his family
he sends a message to you through me
all about prosperity, livin life,
settin your spirit free

Now you see clowns ain't just for kids
but everyone thinks so after what bozo's did
but it ain't to late, they ain't slapped a lid
on youuuuuuuu............

He'll drink a few beers down at his happy place
and he'll play his guitar for any race
cause he loves to put smiles on peoples faces
like yours.............................

Now he loves to sing and dance
He'll be your happy clown if you give him a chance
with his big red nose and his baggy pants
he'd do anything, anything to make you smile.

So if you don't have a clown in your town
you better go out and track one down
cause you'll need him when you're feelin down
to chase your blues awaaaaaaaay.......

Now happy clowns ain't easy to spot
& some may even tell you that they're not
but he may be your town's only chance
so ya gotta bring him back so he can dance
