The Y's And W's
Who are we to judge you so critically
on what you have done.
Who are you to say so emphatically
what I should have become.
Why do we point so accusingly
at those who have not?
Why do we deny them consistently
for the ones who have got?
When is it time to end deniability
and do what adults do;
When the cards are dealt so unfairly
using deceit for tools.
What makes us blind to the mediocrity
of the losers in the game?
What happens in a world of brutality,
who do we seek to blame?
Where do we go to pray religiously
as time itself counts down?
Where do we hide the shame inconspicuously;
never to utter a sound?
