Tears in the Rain

She stood under the window sill watching as the rain fell. She couldn’t believe that he was really gone. He couldn’t have been. He was just here. She went and sat in the exact spot of the accident. There were still blood stains where his head hit the ground. Normally she wouldn’t have sat crying in the middle of the road, but her tears fell just as the rain did. No one can see your tears in the rain. They were engaged and a very happy couple. Having your fiancé die in itself would be horrible, but having him die on the day you were to be wed must have been unbearable. She sat there grasping onto his jacket as though letting go would mean letting go of her fiancé as well. Why must she be like this? She knows that she is stronger than that. Then again, he would have wanted her to show her weak side. He was always telling her, “Come on. It’s ok to cry. Be human and show some emotion.” Then he would laugh in that childish way he always did. But he wouldn’t laugh anymore. He wouldn’t do anything anymore. She loved him so much that sometimes it hurt. It hurt now. She wanted him so much to just open the door and come to comfort her. She had dreams of it that only turned into nightmares after he left. She couldn’t bear it any more. She had to stop the pain. She had to join him. So she did. One bullet, one gun, and one overpowering need to join him. She pulled the trigger with no hesitation. Now they would be together forever.
