A short poem I wrote a few years ago, to release pent-up anger after an argument. |
I want to breathe fire, And watch the world burn from a kiss. I want to see the sky choke to death On the smoke from my furious hiss. I want to fall like an oak tree, And crush all that lies beneath. I want to see the glory of Nature Dashed into mulch as I seethe. I want to rise up like the sea, A hundred-foot wave with cacophonous rage And devour all those who oppose me. I want to move like a twister, And pull up the land as I pass. I want to see the world spin away And destroy all that stands in my path I want to roll with the thunder, Stand on a storm-cloud and bellow my wrath; Watch the wide world shrink away from my roar See them scatter when they hear my crash. I want to strike like the lightning, Brighten the shadows and darken the sun. I want to stamp like an earthquake, To shake the planet apart as I run. I want to blaze like a comet, Eating up space and burning the night. I need to pour like a flash-flood, Drowning whatever's in sight. I want to be Armageddon, And tear down all that you have created. I want your world to crumble before me, And not stop til this rage has abated. |
