poem from 10-15-04 |
| I light the candle and in it's glow, strain and stumble to express myself; afraid you'll laugh at my attempts. No words can quite capture the way you make me feel inside. I end my feebleness and extinguish the flame. My arms ache to embrace your soul; to tenderly stroke your hair and heal your heart. My lips tremble at the thought of caressing your forehead as you sleep; If only to kiss away the pain she left behind. Oh my lover, I long to tell you how my heart swells when my name falls from your lips. Nothing can extinguish the passion that once drew me to you. But in the dark silence hold me and I'll say nothing while our spirits and bodies entwine. |
