An Ode to Johnny

I've had a dream, a passion, a need,
burning inside me that I must feed.

See, not long ago I was just another girl,
with no purpose or place in this world.

But then that very purpose was defined,
when the crazy idea found it's place in my mind.

An actress, I realized, I wanted to be!
And that's the only life for me.

I got shot down, many a time.
But I ignored their insults. I had made up my mind.

They said "You'll never make it. You don't stand a chance.
So many try out, but so few join the dance."

But there was a few who reached fame so high.
If all of them did it, then why couldn't I?

I then discovered you, and was amazed by your skill.
And as I watched you act, your performance built up my will.

I studied your life, your work, and your ways.
Certain this is not just a phase.

Your first acting ever, you were the star of the show.
Not doing bit parts first. Not having to grow.

From a nobody to a star in the blink of an eye.
By that, I'm amazed. You'd think you could fly.

So much you've achieved, yet you are not prideful.
And to say this in short... You are my idol.

And when I am famous, all over the nation,
I'll say "Johnny Depp was my inspiration."
