Running to Stand Still

My life is in slow motion
Nothing ever seems to change
No matter how hard I try and try
Everything stays the same

I feel like I'm going nowhere
Though I'm running as fast as can be
Trying to improve my life somehow
But things never change for me

Things sometimes get better
But then something else goes wrong
Working our asses off all day
To just barely get along

Maybe someday I'll find it
Whatever I'm searching for
But for now I'm running to stand still
Always wanting more
