It's every word I mean to say, It's every song I mean to play |
Although this is, in fact, a song, you'd probably be better off thinking of it as poetry. That being said... All the things I mean to say The things I mean to do What I wouldn't do for you What of it What of you What of everything I do To change To lose myself in you This cold delusion It holds true to me Holds true to you I'm detained Restrained Contained So plainly put So strangely true But what of me And what of you It's in everything I do It's every word I mean to say It's every song I mean to play It's everything And slipping softly Quietly, behind me Where it should be Where I should be Still, so true to me So true to me I've given in Given up Leering and lost Wearing and tearing Blindly and staring Cautiously blaring Ignorance, daring I've given in Given up On the one thing I don't know Nearly poetic How it comes to be That this is all I see This is who I'll be For your familiar face And that familiar place What if I were you What if you were me Would it be the same Could it be rearranged Changed A change Is all I need And all I seem to see Still, so true to me What I seem to be Is anything for you Author's Note: The music to this has been recorded, and it works out extremely well. The last line was added as it only seemed natural for it to be there. Thanks for the reviews thus far. |
