to life itself

Holding on by a thread
To a dream of normality
For peace to envelope my spirit
Restless for want
Strength evaporating

Slowly, slowly
Things change
Turn and twist
Getting worse

Holding on by a thread
To a dream of humanity
For lighter baggage
Easier sleep
Resistance evaporating

Faster, faster
Life takes hold
Spirals and twirls
Downward oblivion

Holding on by a thread
To something I do not know
For the nightmares to not be
Calmer existence
Inner conflict

Slower, faster
The dream fades
Spinning and contorting
Darkness a shroud
